Think about all of the chemical cleaners you likely have under a sink in your house - now imagine the number of chemicals in those products, and think about how much of a health risk those products are. It's somewhat frightening. Housewives have an elevated risk of cancer, up to 54%, compared to women who work in an office due to the fact that they are typically exposed to the chemicals more frequently. American households have the unfortunate reputation for being at the top of the list when it comes to breaching the chemical waste rules with disposal of household cleaners compared to other countries. So, what is the solution? We are using more environmentally safe products today, such as reusable bags, yet we still use cleaning products that are environmentally unfriendly. There is a lot more work that could be done in this area, but thankfully there are some simple, homemade, environmentally friendly alternatives. This spray is also good for keeping germs off of door handles. To keep your furniture looking new and clean, mix olive oil with lemon or white vinegar, spray over furniture and wipe with a clean soft cloth. Mix Baking soda and salt into a paste and rub on any stubborn cooking stains in the kitchen, this will create a scour effect and get rid of any hard baked on stains. It is easy to change your cleaning products and help minimize the effect on the environment that harsh chemicals can cause. Natural cleaning products are much less expensive then chemical based cleaners and so much safer for you and your family. The best news is that you probably already have a lot of these items in your home - so start using them!

Precious And Semi-Precious Deep Blue Colored Gemstones

A number of gemstones occur in blue colors with various depths of color and hues. A few gemstones are found with close to the deep blue of the earth from space. The one gemstone I believe is the closest to the color you suggested is Lapis Lazuli. Since many commercially available semi-precious gems are dyed and otherwise treated to create colors in the stone materials, I will first describe stones which occur naturally in deep blue colors. Lapis Lazuli is a gemstone from use since ancient times. Think of some of the blues used by the ancien egyptians who used both lapis and blue glass in ornamentation. This is a "massive" gemstone, meaning it is not in clear crystals but rather made of many small particles bonded together. The best deep purple blue comes from Afghanistan and is very close to the ocean color. Recently, a form called "denim lapis" has been offered but this is the grayish light blue material which was rejected as poor quality years ago. Some of the lighter and more gray grades of lapis come from Chile. "Gem grade" lapis is not a precious stone but will not be inexpensive. Gem grade is the richest of color, generally without pyrite (fools gold) showing and pure color across the cut gem. Some people consider pure dark blue lapis without the sparkles of pyrite the best while others give equal value to pure dark blue stones with a uniform and eye-pleasing display of pyrite. The pyrite in lapis gives a golden twinkle from each speck of this fools gold. Going a bit down in quality, lapis with the pure dark blue color may have white streaks. These stones will look something like your suggested photograph with the clouds added to the blue. The more the lapis varies from the pure dark blue the lower the value becomes. The so-called "denim lapis" is a marketing term used to sell this stone. Personally, though much lower in price than higher grades, the mix of nice "denim" material works well in less costly jewelry and is pretty attractive. The material is colored something like stone washed blue jeans and I suppose that is where the name "denim lapis" originated. "Sodalite" is close to the color of lapis but generally more blackish with variations with white material in the rock. "Lazulite" is an uncommon mineral which forms crystals of an intense deep blue. This is not a semi-precious stone and is of more interest to mineral collectors. Lazulite is the mineral giving Lapis its rich color. Another mineral collectors choice is "azurite", a deep blue mineral which is not a semi-precious stone but adds color to a few gemstones of mixed green and blues shades such as "Eilat Stone", a fairly soft stone sometimes sold as semi-precious. The stones mentioned are the main ones showing the dark blue color you indicated. For use in jewelry, only Lapis Lazuli and Sodalite qualify in that color range. To see more of lapis or any stone mentioned in this answer, simply search the web. For better stones, I suggest you say something like "gem grade lapis". Stones cut like opals, lapis, tiger eye, black onyx, etc., are called "cabochons". Cabochons are flat or domed cut stones, unlike faceted stones like diamonds, sapphire, blue topaz, etc. As a note, some sites call stones "gem grade" when in fact the stones are of lower quality. Also, be aware that many cabochons stones are dyed and treated to make lower grade material look like the more valuable natural stones. Other blue stones, like "Agate" will sometimes show blue color but most is more a pale blue to medium blue. Any really dark blues are likely dyed. "Tanzanite" is a faceted gemstone, cut from clear crystals. The color ranges from pale blue to a deep electric blue. This is not inexpensive in better grades. "Lolite" is a faceted gemstone which is not very costly but does show a deep purple blue in well cut stones. The color varies with the direction you look through the gemstone. "Spinel" is mostly thought of as a stone for "class rings" and lots of manmade spinel is used in those rings. Spinel is a natural stone rarely seen but one color is a deep and lovely blue. Spinel may also be red in color. "Tourmaline" is a faceted gemstone and colors are all over the rainbow. A blue type is called "Indicolite" and may be pale to very, very dark blue. Other blue stones which are considered either precious gems or are too light in blue color to match the ocean view from space are: Blue topaz (treated to get the dark blues), Aquamarine (paler blue), Turquoise and Blue Zircon (heat treated to make it blue). A note about precious and semi-precious gems: Some of the "precious gems" like sapphire may cost less than a gem quality lapis or spinel, for instance. The price all depends on the quality of the particular stone. Over all, quality level by quality level, precious gems like diamond, sapphire and ruby will be much more expensive than the other stones. A semi-precious stone may range in a few dollars to several hundreds or thousands of dollars depending on quality, such as with "Opals". Some of the semi-precious stones like "Agate" will command higher prices for especially beautiful stones but will not compete even closely to better precious gems. What we like is all in the eye of the wearer! Lapis like the ocean seen from space is a lovely gemstone.

Burger flippers get training, so do crossing guards and street sweepers - but not parents. As soon as sperm fertilizes an egg, we become human sculptors. We're given approximately seven pounds of protoplasm to mold and manage, help and heal, teach and train, comfort and care for. I can't help thinking the world would be a better place if we were trained to do it - if we were trained to take care of the next generation - the generation that will take care of us. In spite of my mother taking good care of me, I told myself I'd do things differently when I had children. I didn't. I yelled. I sent my sons to their rooms without listening to their explanations. I made up excuses to get out of chaperoning class trips. One thing I didn't do, however, was say, "Wait until your father gets home". Because my mother was a single mother, she never said that. She handed out immediate consequences. So did I. My sons didn't appreciate that. They wanted to be like their friends. They wanted to wait until their father got home. Because I didn't have any brothers, I didn't have any idea how to raise boys. All I could do was my best; and thankfully, my best got better. I discovered boys weren't girls with penises. I bought Band-Aids instead of Barbie dolls. When our boys started school, John and I started rewarding them for good grades. As they got older, ice cream turned into money - the better the grade, the more money. Some parents thought we were bribing our sons. While John fought for Uncle Sam, Dr. Blakely fought for my sanity. I think he did a good job. After all, I had a second child.

No one man has all the qualities I want my president to have, but maybe I want too much. I want a man of the people - someone who understands the problems of the common man - someone who tells it like it is - someone like a termite inspector. My candidate should have experience governing. He should work unceasingly to get different groups to work together for the common good. He should have been a PTA President. Of course, getting people to work together requires compromise; and we've seen that compromising positions can be very difficult for some government officials. Experience in world affairs is a must; but if it were the only qualification, Elizabeth Taylor would have been our first woman president. Honesty is another must or is honesty and government official an oxymoron? I want my leader to be open-minded and independent - to listen to what the people say and not just say what he thinks we want to hear. I want to see the back of the President's head when he makes speeches so I know special interests aren't pulling the string that makes him talk. I think the head of my country should be someone who believes devoutly in family - short of polygamy, that is. He should have charisma. JFK had it. Clinton had it. Clint Eastwood has it. In fact, Clint Eastwood has the experience to act like a president and the experience to direct the country. A sense of humor is a plus for a leader. The people want to laugh with him - not laugh at him. I thought Chevy Chase would be good, but he tends to be a fall guy. Billy Crystal would be better. He's funny and he's good at award ceremonies. Although the President doesn't half to be tall, people subconsciously associate height with power. A tall president would be looked up to by the world. When I think tall, I think Shaquille O'Neal. As a reserve, Miami Beach policeman, he's a peace officer. He's someone who believes in law enforcement. Shaq's been a team player - with three different teams; and he'd give new meaning to the term "shacking up". Last, but not least, is the age factor. I want a president old enough to be wise, but at least a decade away from wisdumb. I want a wise man with courage instead of gold, frankincense or myrrh.

I assumed lack of money would be one issue women hate. Another issue I felt could be important would be a lack of listening skills. I expected that most women would find most men lack the ability to have a deep emotional connection. I also expected most women would like great sex. To my surprise I found that most women hated wussy men. They used different words for this. They used words like clingy and needy and a mums boy. It seems most women do not want to be a mum to their man. Why do men become very needy? I have been reflecting on this and I feel it comes back to how we related to our mums. Did the man feel totally loved by their mum? Just about any man and myself would say that that their mum did her best but she did not love them unconditionally. So the boy feels that he was not loved on some level when he was growing up. So when the boy is grown up he has a need for love. He feels that his women can fulfill this need of love that he did not receive from his mum. He becomes needy around women. His happiness depends on a woman. He tries to please his women by gifts, flowers and expensive restaurants. He puts up with her flaking out on dates and her over critical behavior. He is NICE. He is far too NICE. Women hate this! Have you ever noticed that some very attractive women are not interested in nice man but are attracted to Bad Boys? Do you have attractive women friends that just want to be friends with you? Have you been told that you are nice but a woman just wants to be friends with you? If so, I feel you could be wussy on some level. Another sign is a fear of rejection from women. Did I say, looking attractive is not on the list of things in a man women likes? No, I did not. The researches said so. Why do I disagree? Let me ask you another question. How many times have you heard a woman gushed "Ooooohhh...he is soooo gorgeous" or "Omigosh....Brad Pitt is sooooo handsome"? If that is not being attracted by attractive male good looks, then what is? While I do agree that women will ultimately bed or marry a man with many other qualities, an attractive looking male will still be a women magnet or at least during the first contact. How else can girls get to like a man or are able to assess his other traits and abilities without getting to know him first? So the initial attraction is still a good looking male who is attractive to women. Do we agree now that men must look good to attract women? Now that we do, let us explore what physical features will make us attractive to women. We will not discuss facial features because we are stuck with it and nothing can be done except with surgery to reconstruct our face. That leaves us our male body of which we can sculpt and mould so that it is attractive to women. Most women will not like men who are skinny or obese. This does make sense. A skinny man is instinctively perceived as too weak to protect her and an obese man may be too cumbersome to bring home the bread and may be prone to illnesses. This mental compartmentalization may not be logical and are probably programmed in women's primeval maternal instinct. On the other extreme, most women are also turned off by men with big huge muscles like those of professional bodybuilders. Reasons often repeated in surveys are that the couple will look unnatural. Normal human do not have such large muscles and therefore bodybuilders are intimidating. To make matters worse, many women whether if it is true or not declare that bodybuilders are narcissists as they spend hours and hours in the gym preening themselves so much so that they are insensitive to women's needs and so are therefore selfish people. It may not be true, but then these are what women perceived bodybuilders to be. That then boils down to this, the reasonably fit, muscular and healthy man with the following body features will attract attract women:- •Broad Back and Chest - Denotes confidence. Projects a strong respectful posture and demeanor. •Sexy Six Pack Abs - The man is not obese and also with the six pack abs, he is strong and therefore he is not like the skinny weakling. He is also perceived to be great in bed, which adds icing to the cake eh? •Strong Arms and Shoulders - Able to sweep her off her feet and protect the young ones. Is Time Management Manageable?

As I get older, time goes faster. I have to try to manage it or get out of its way. My first lesson in trying to do this came from my grandmother, who repeatedly stressed the importance of balancing work and play. When I was seven, I thought I'd figured out how. That's when I asked her for another watch so I'd have one for work and one for play. Today my watch is my conscience. I inherited it from my father and sometimes I think it's still his. My father was always five minutes early. So is his watch - with two exceptions. There have been two crises in my life since I've been wearing his watch and during both crises his watch was exactly right. My husband smiles and says they were coincidences. I, however, believe in...Father Time. I believe in schedules too. Unfortunately, they're easier to believe in than keep - which is why I love the story about President Carter forgetting his anniversary. Flowers die, candy lives forever on the hips and jewelry doesn't stay hip long enough. Instead of a store-bought gift, President Carter promised Rosalynn he'd never complain when she was late. That's the perfect gift for someone like me who's schedule-challenged. I schedule everything I can for the morning. I'm most productive before lunch. I want to have all the have-to-do's done so I can take care of the unexpected's in the afternoon. If there aren't any unexpected's, I can take an unexpected nap. Naps are on the bottom of my daily, to-do list because I make myself prioritize what has to be done in order of importance. Because that usually means doing what I least want to do first, I bribe myself. For me it's the carrot (cake) - not the stick approach to life. I also try to listen to my body. If I'm tired at eight-thirty at night, I go to bed at eight-thirty. If I stay up late, I try to sleep in the next morning. If I can't sleep in, I try to nap during the day. I've discovered that if I want my body to work for me, I have to be a good boss. I've also discovered that time can't be managed - it manages us. That's life. All I can do is push the snooze button on my alarm clock and not worry about it for ten minutes.

Also, do not expect a new pair of shoes to stretch over the time. So forget that pair of shoes if that does not fit you comfortably. Don't buy a pair of shoes also that is rightly fitted for your feet. The shoes should give at least a thumb-length allowance or space for the length and width of your feet. Try to walk with that new pair of shoes and assess if it feels comfortable or not. Sometimes, shoes can be comfortable when you fit them but when you walk with them, they just become uncomfortable. Never buy a new pair of shoes having a design that you don't actually want or will never dare to wear. That stiletto may look cute but if you can't wear a pair of shoes showing your nails, then better forget that. With womens wide width shoes, you can now confidently throw all your unfit shoes and just enjoy a new life with your new feet size and new pair of shoes.
